G's 6th b-day is coming up on Sat. We're going on a short road trip tomorrow through the weekend, so this year, there won't be a b-day party for G. We celebrated G's b-day early with the in-laws Sat, so he's got new toys to play with. M & I bought him a new bike since he has outgrown his old bike. Here's a pic of the happy almost-6-yr-old on his brand new 16'' bike. :)
Meanwhile, G's old bike is just perfect for E right now. I didn't even realize the color schemes were the same on the bikes until we put them side-by-side! Of course, I can't not add a pic of my little girl, who has just inherited E's barely touched tricycle. Sorry, tricycle not pictured...maybe next time. ;)i'm on page 7 of twilight. please...hold your applause. i couldn't find any time to read until after midnight these days. by god, i'll catch up to you all!
amazon is going to own my soul sooner rather than later if i continue shopping online as much as i have been lately. it's too easy to spend half my paycheck on random sh*t i'm convinced i need/must have.
- sigg bottle (purchased inspired by xgf)
- 2 sweaters from armani exchange
- 3 pairs of report wedge-heeled shoes
- a set of eternal postage stamps. i got really tired of asking "so how much do stamps cost NOW?" and "would you happen to have a 1cent stamp in your office?"
- 7 cds
- 11oz fekkai hairspray (b/c i am too lazy to drive my butt to sephora)
- book: he's just not that into you (OH YES, I WENT THERE, GIRLS... b/c sambar mentioned once that he read the book and agreed with 80% of it... i wasn't sure at that moment if i should've asked if he was into me OR why the heck he was reading it to begin with)
- book: twilight (jumping on the bandwagon since you girls are SOOOO into it, i must find out for myself what the hype is about)
- book: water for elephants (another purchase inspired by xgf)
- book: when you are engulfed in flames by sedaris
- book: my horizontal life - a collection of one night stands by chelsea handler (shout out to reef!)
on the dating front, sambar called on saturday night (while he was up at thunder hill again for yet another moto racing weekend) while i was out at dinner with friends to inquire if my tuesday night was available. he explained this week is going to be "crazy" for him (with MORE shows/practice/a webcast, esp since one of his OLD bands wants to get back together so now he'll be committed to THREE bands... aiyah!) and wanted to book time with me before my days filled up (not that my schedule is ridiculously packed but he doesn't need to know that :). tomorrow we'll be going out to dinner and seeing "dark night" --- bleh. movie... boooring! but he said he'd "love to see it" so i'll accommodate if he buys me a hot dog and fries. me==> easygoing (otherwise known as "working on being less high-maintenance").
lined up for this thursday: meeting #2 with Boy35. TBD if we are doing just drinks or dinner/drinks.
tonight Mr. Aqua called. we kept missing each other's txt msgs/calls as he's been working nights (he's a stanford resident doctor... HOT!!!) and is in n. carolina on vacation with familia, the latter fact i wasn't aware of until he shared it with me over the phone this evening. dude, if *i* were on vacation, *i* certainly wouldn't bother calling ppl from match.com who are in a different time zone! it was a fun convo though and we chatted for OVER an hour about thailand, food (a given with me), living in the bay area, anthropology and sociology (surprise! all that alcohol hasn't killed off all my brain cells... yet), etc... he'll be back this next weekend and we're scheduled to have drinks/dinner or coffee the following thursday.
so this is my last month on match.com and i've had my fill of it. fuck, it sometimes feels like another job, sorting through the email/winks/writing back/txting/arranging a time to call/meet (although the meeting in person hasn't happened that much). I NEED A BREAK! starting next month there'll likely be fewer updates to the Boys XLS (sorry! but i bet some of you are glad to be relieved of trying to keep up with the new monikers popping up) as i take some time away from dating and trade off meeting boys to focus on my newfound love: ONLINE SHOPPING!

OMG! I LOVED IT!!!!
plane tickets to hawaii in september are fucking RIDICULOUS!!! $750+?!?!?? when i flew into paris/spain it cost under $500!!!!!!
damn inflated fuel prices.
last night sambar blurted out "i wanna spend money, let's go on a vacation!" if someone really wants to get me off, those are exactly the sweet nothings to whisper in my ear. we threw maui/oahu and costa rica back and forth for a few minutes, agreed that both would prefer to to go to costa rica for some crazy white water rafting adventures but it's the wet/'green' season and we'd like to be able to go to the beach in the afternoon w/o there being a chance of rainfall. he visited maui in 2001 but is willing to go again, so...
based on your feedback, we decided on maui in september. thanks interwebs :)! i <3 u!
if we don't kill each other in sept, we're going to shoot for costa rica/central or south america in december.
and i get to plan the ENTIRE itinerary! this is good and bad news -- good b/c i have so much fun planning vaykays; bad b/c if anything doesn't go well, it'll be MY FAULT (or i'll at least hold myself accountable for having a shitty time).
litmus test, coming right up!
btw, the other day while shopping online i came across these cool keytars on the gamma-go website. the british flag keytar (not pictured here) caught my eye and i couldn't resist purchasing the set as a surprise for sambar. i am so nice sometimes that it makes me ill just thinking about what a softie i can be.
happy friday, interwebs!!! i am going to veg tonight, catch up on SYTYCD shows, order chinese take out and maybe call Mr. Aqua (from match.com) tonight!
How do you travel to and from work - personal vehicle, bus, subway/train, pedal power? What does it cost you per week in gas or fares?
Submitted by Jan.
I use my car. I pay between $35-$40 a week for gas.
So I made another call to Jardine today to ask about the crib status. It's still not showing up in the system. The rep told me that it could still be in the mail or it's still being processed. I understand cause really there are tons of people that are submitting theirs. He did tell me though that if it's still not in their computer by next Wednesday, they have a process of still giving the vouchers to those people whose stuff got lost in the mail cause it happens and they'll issue us a voucher. *whew* That's all I wanted to hear cause really I can't submit another support slat or bolts. We only had 1 crib.
Speaking of cribs, the new one came in already and we were supposed to pick it up at BRU yesterday but we had no way of getting it home. We don't have a truck and we were about to rent one from Lowe's or Home Depot but none of their rental trucks were available. Hopefully the hubby can get it today when he gets off work. We're pretty much staying home this weekend to work on some stuff at the house and rearrange furniture. We're putting the crib back in the other room.
