skin
my whole life, i rarely washed my face with anything other than water.
and now, when i have to wash off make-up, i use... just water.
so far, so good- i'm totally blessed with having highly tolerant skin.
only when i'm crazy, majorly stressed out will I "break out" and at worst, it's one or two teeny tiny pimples.
lately i've noticed my skin becoming more sensitive and a light smattering of freckles have shown up on my forehead, across my cheeks, on my nose. hmmm. maybe i should have worn some sunblock during all those years of swim team and water polo. hmmm.
this past week hasn't been particularly stressful but my right cheek has been slightly rashy/bumpy. maybe it's because i passed out fell asleep without washing my face on Friday night after this:
damn frosting is effing up my skin!
can someone recommend a good skin cleanser? I'm looking for <$50, something that will leave my skin soft and moistorized, and can help my skin look more glowy before August.
I already own/rarely use shu uemura's cleansing oil , Shiseido Pureness Cleansing Foam, and Bliss Steep Clean Cleanser. do you use anything better you'd like to recommend?

or
johnson + johnson's purpose gentle cleanser.
i bought that shu uemura cleansing oil and it grosses me out cause it doesn't rinse off.
in the past, i used soap and water, too. now i use johnson and johnson's clean and clear foaming cleanser (about $4 at target) daily and can't go back to soap anymore. it just feels wrong. clean and clear does a good job imho.
when i couldn't get rid of a patch of pimples across my forehead in 2004, i used body shop tea tree oil facial scrub with little microbeads (best $10 i spent). scrub your problem areas away.
after i wash my face, i moisturize after with lubiderm spf 15. it's suppose to be just for the body, i slather on my face, too. :x no fragance, non greasy and it protects my skin from the sun.
I'm sorta like you..
Morning Routine: Washcloth with warm water, then moisturize under eyes and all over face.. Clinique for Eyes.. and then Dramatically Different Lotion
Mid-Day (if I feel dry): Oil of Olay on the cheeks
Night Routine: Washcloth with warm water.. (if I remember) Clinique Toner #2... and on a good week if I remember, Origins Microdermabrasion thing.. can't remember what it's called. but it has rice and starch in it.. works well... but most nights.. moisturize under the eyes and face (same as morning).. and if I remember.. Clinique Turnaround Lotion.
I'm looking for a better moisturizer too. I don't like putting things on my face that stay on my face.
Hope your skin clears up soon!
i use neutrogena spf 70 face sunblock. (hey, i don't look young for my age for nothin')
i used to use the shiseideo cleansing oil but found it didn't work for this climate.
laura mercier has a similar water cleanser/softening lotion that is really good too. better than shiseido's imho.
